THE TWIST
An asymmetrical twisting volume is inserted into an existing lobby to create a radical new approach to entry and flow.
A museum-like interior experience is established within the quiet white walls justaposed by the sculptural and robust concrete volume that twists and lifts, seemingly defying gravity

300 Park Ave was struggling with a front door that was dated in design/finishes and inefficient when it came to flow of tenants and guests.
The solution was to break the symmetry of the space by redirecting the main guest experience to one side, while creating a more stream-lined path for tenants on the other.
Spatially, this was amplified further by introducing a twisting concrete volume. Both sculptural and functional, this volume creates a new striking identity from the street front, but also houses the egress stair that leads you outside of the lobby. The unexpected twisting and lifting form creates an intimate zone for the reception desk, and a radical new approach to lobby design.
